FOURTH GENERATION COPPERSMITH, Rusell Wright, installs a copper ridge cap as part of the replication of a new copper panel roof that he is installing on the Tides Institute & Museum of Art building. The new roof will match the original roof from when the building was first built in 1887. Russell began work on the copper roof on August 8, 2008. The north half of the copper roof is expected to be completed by the end of September, 2008. Work will begin on the south half of the copper roof in late April, 2009 when the entire unrestored south half exterior of the building will be restored. The photograph above was taken on August 28, 2008. |
